Grey Towers National Historic Landmark, located in Milford, Pennsylvania, is the former home of Gifford Pinchot, America's first Chief Forester and twice Governor of Pennsylvania. The estate serves as a conference center for conservation issues and as a base of operations for the Pinchot Institute for Conservation, personally dedicated for the the study of land and its issues by President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Tours, conservation education programs for schools and teachers, and sessions to enhance natural resource leadership are offered year-round. The historic buildings and grounds provide a unique setting and inspiration for understanding our nation's cultural and natural resources.

The Forest Service has recently embarked on a major restoration and rehabilitation plan for Grey Towers. The work will be completed over the next several years through partnerships with other public and private groups. Included in the rehabilitation are emergency repairs to preserve to preserve the buildings and landscape, upgrades to comply with the American with Disabilities Act, enhanced exhibit rooms and conference facilities, increased parking, and a research library for conservation scholarship.

This will support the mission of Grey Towers, which is to serve as a national symbol and center for the support and nurturing of conservation stewardship.
